Heineken to cut thousands of jobs amid ‘challenging market conditions’

Heineken has warned they are planning to axe up to 6,000 jobs due to weaker demand for beer amid a “challenging market conditions.”

The UK are of the brewing giant based in Edinburgh, London, Manchester and other areas employs 2,100 people.

Heineken has said they will cut between 5,000 and 6,000 jobs over the coming two years which will impact 7% of the global workforce.

Heineken also operates 2,400 Star Pub and Bars arm across the UK, the Dutch brewing giant has not said if the UK operations will be affected.

The Dutch company reported sales fell by 1.2% last year and total revenues fell by 4.7% year-on-year to £29.8 billion.

Operating profits fell by 3.2% to £2.97 billion.
