Elden Ring Golden Seeds: All Locations and How Many You Need

Patch 1.17.2 went live on 20 October 2026. It fixes bugs and adds no content.

A Golden Seed adds charges to your sacred flasks. You start with 4 charges. 30 Golden Seeds take you to the maximum of 14.

Each new charge costs more seeds than the one before:

More than 40 Golden Seeds lie in the Lands Between. You can skip the hardest ones and still reach 14 charges.

To use a seed, rest at a Site of Grace. Open the Flask menu and pick Add charge to flask.

Golden Seeds raise the Flask of Crimson Tears and the Flask of Cerulean Tears. The Flask of Wondrous Physick takes Crystal Tears instead.

The Golden Seed is also a keepsake at character creation. Pick it and you start with 1 seed.

Limgrave, the Weeping Peninsula and Stormveil Castle hold 8 Golden Seeds. That is enough for 8 flask charges before Liurnia.

Golden Seeds lie at the roots of small glowing golden saplings. Look for the gold glow from a distance.

Tree Spirits drop a seed each when you defeat them.

The Capital Outskirts give 4 seeds in 2 spots. That is 1 full charge at the 4-seed step.

The last seeds sit in late zones and under the world. Most players reach 30 before they need them.

A Sacred Tear raises the healing of your sacred flasks by 1 level. 12 Sacred Tears take the flask to +12. Every Sacred Tear waits in a church.

The Mistwood Church of Marika also holds the Flask of Wondrous Physick. Grab both on your 1st visit.

Use the tears at a Site of Grace, from the same Flask menu as the seeds.

The Shadow of the Erdtree map has no Golden Seeds and no Sacred Tears.
