Update: My frown has been turned upside down....The ability to swipe between multiple cool link fans has been added. If you now add key function buttons to the individual launch screen to avoid the remote button and add Apple Watch function it’ll be 5 stars from me...for what that’s worth....I’ve always been frustrated by the Pure Cool fan integration in the Dyson app, having to select the remote to adjust manually rather than have the most used buttons on the product launch screen, but was ok. However, the update has made using this app even worse, previously if you have 2 fans you could swipe between fans, now you can’t, if I want to change the speed setting on my bedroom fan I have to open the app, go to the menu, select the bedroom fan as front room is default, once selected I then have to press the remote icon to finally adjust the settings. I never write reviews but this update has made an ‘ok’ app and poor app. Apple Watch integration and complication would be handy too.

OK, but expect a bit more from Dyson

UPDATE: Down from three stars to two. I love the machine but the app is poor. Scheduling is awful, when are we going to see the ability to set more than one event a day, ie so I can clean some areas in morning and some in afternoon etc (this has been promised for ages). If it’s too complicated for your dev team then instead enable that ability in HomeKit or Alexa and let us do it from there. Based on this really important missing function I would no longer recommend the product. Original review - The robots OK and I accept we have cutting edge tech with our robot hoover, Barry, and because of that we can live with the slightly chaotic way it lives it’s life. However the app needs much improvement a) we MUST be able to set up a multiple schedules to be able to do more than one thing per day, I want to be able to clean the kitchen overnight and the hallway in the afternoon. b) more integration with other things. I have a tech savvy house, if I could link to HomeKit then Barry could ask for the lights to be turned on if it wasn’t light enough or start a clean when we all go out, come on, think outside the box a bit guys. c) a bit more in app feedback on what’s going on, where Barry is now, a history of events like dust box full or low on charge. d) ability to request zoned cleaning from Alexa (and Siri) not just a full house clean. Finally (and I can’t believe it’s not in there already) e) an abort clean option and return to base, the closest we get is a pause function which stops it dead. Fix all those and it’s 5 stars from me.

With regards to returning your robot to the dock, when you pause the clean a button appears next to the pause button appears, this button will tell your robot to return to its dock. So close but not close enough

We’ve upgraded to the heurist and it’s marginally better than the 360 was but also seems more temperamental. We have sun in our garden in the evening right around the time I want the heurist to do its thing. Unfortunately this machines camera does not like sun and as soon as the camera lense enters into direct sunlight it freezes and doesn’t know what to do with itself. The 360 didn’t have this issue.Also this new machine still insists on getting stuck where there is no obstacle. I’d love to see a feature in the app where you can manually control the machine (like a remote control car) instead of having to keep getting up and freeing it from nothing. Why these machines can’t reverse well I don’t know but when it finds itself in a predicament, instead of keep bashing forwards and then getting “stuck” simply reversing for a beat would solve it. It can be frustrating to witness and has me wondering why I don’t just do it myself with a normal hoover...A great machine in some respects but also a pain in the backside in others. We’re always shocked if it manages a full clean without getting stuck. *a note to the app developers - please put back the feature to scroll between machines. I’ve got so many of your products and scrolling through was far better and easier than the new drop down update. Thanks

I recently purchased a Dyson Hot + Cool fan. What makes this app useless is the fact that the fan goes into a power save mode which turns off the WiFi 5 minutes after reaching the desired temperature. This results in the fan appearing as Offline in the App. To get the fan back on line it is necessary to use the remote control to increase the temperature to bring the device out of the power save mode.“Thanks for sharing your experience. Here’s what’s supposed to happen: When your Dyson Hot + Cool is set to Auto mode (for heating or cooling), it uses built-in sensors to keep your room at the desired temperature or air quality. Once it hits the target, the machine enters idle mode—meaning it’ll stop heating/cooling, but stay ready to react if conditions change. In idle mode, the fan shouldn’t switch off WiFi or appear “Offline” in the app. It must stay connected, allowing you to monitor and control from the app at any time. If your fan enters power save mode and disconnects from WiFi after reaching the set temperature, causing it to appear offline, that’s not typical behaviour in Auto mode. This makes app features less useful, as you’ve noticed. Since this isn’t expected, speak directly with Dyson Support. They’ll investigate your specific device and advise whether a setting, firmware update, or hardware issue is involved."I did reach out to Dyson support and it was they who informed me that when the HF1 goes into idle mode, to conserve energy WiFi is also powered off which is a poor design for a smart device.
