Home services startup Pronto has raised $11 Mn in its Series A round, co-led by General Catalyst and Glade Brook Capital, with participation from existing investor Bain Capital Ventures. The funding comes just months after the Gurugram-based 10-minute on-demand home services platform closed a $2 Mn seed extension from Bain Capital Ventures. Pronto plans to use the fresh capital to expand into Mumbai and Bengaluru over the next 12–18 months, while training and onboarding 10,000 additional service professionals. The startup currently offers instant, scheduled, and recurring house help services, ranging from sweeping and utensil washing to laundry assistance and kitchen cleaning. Early-stage venture capital fund Eternal Capital (India), founded by former BharatPe COO Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl, has rebranded as Sadev Ventures. The rebranding aligns the fund’s identity with its family office, reflecting its core values and long-term vision. Sadev Ventures plans to strengthen its India-first strategy while helping portfolio companies expand globally through strategic partners and global LPs. “This identity reinforces our commitment to enabling ventures that can become generational institutions,” said Bahl. Launched in mid-2024, Sadev Ventures is sector-agnostic and invests in seed to pre-Series A startups with cheque sizes of ₹2–6 crore. From my next fund onwards, I’m adding health & fitness criteria before investing in any founder. Startups already come with enough risk factors—market crashes, pivot disasters, co-founder dramas, funding winters… and I refuse to add “founder’s untimely heart attack” to the cap table. So yes, if you can’t run 5K without gasping for air, maybe you shouldn’t be running a startup either.

Kluisz.ai, led by former OYO senior executive Abhinav Sinha, has raised $9.6 million (INR 82.9 crore) in seed funding. The round was led by RTP Global and saw participation from Unicorn India Ventures, Blume Ventures Founders Fund, Climber Capital, and prominent angels. Every VC wants high returns and high risk — basically, they want to invest in a rocket ship before it’s even built. But here’s the twist — India’s VC ecosystem is still figuring out where to buy the rocket fuel. Unlike the US, where decades of exits have created deep pockets and deeper risk appetites, we’re still on our early missions. And that’s not a bad thing. Every giant ecosystem once started with small, nervous steps (and a few burnt fingers). Once Indian investors start seeing more wins, trust me — the bets will get bolder, and the stories will get crazier. We may be a younger ecosystem, but we’ve got the hustle, heart, and hunger to go from “emerging” to “exploding.”

Agilitas x Virat Kohli partnership is one of the masterstroke deals I have seen in recent times. Virat invests 40 CR in Agilitas for a 1.94% stake, putting Agilitas’s valuation around 2000 CR. 📈 In turn, Agilitas acquires one8world, making Virat a co-founder and shareholder. They now get two very important growth levers: ⬇️ 1. A powerful manufacturing (via Mochiko Shoes - a 600 CR+ footwear brand that Agilitas acquired in 2008 ), 2. India’s biggest athlete — exclusively aligned. Easily becomes a 4000 CR revenue brand in the next 5 years. Footwear + retail scale requires capital — but this partnership compresses customer acquisition, product cycles, and brand-building like few others. Even Virat said in his podcast with Abhishek Ganguly, the co-founder of Agilitas that, “I didn’t want a brand deal… I wanted to build something that outlives me.” And Abhishek said something even beautiful - “An ambition to build from India but be globally relevant.” This isn’t marketing. This is legacy building with shared skin in the game. And that is how startups work - shared ambition with one goal (to make the company big) and food (read stake) in the table for everyone! A company that can be built in the long term with culture, capital, and conviction aligned. This might be the first time in India, where an athlete joins hands with a sport company to re-imagine and build the sport ecosystem of India - truly revolutionalising the game with a clear vision. 🙌
