It was not just technically challenging to create and analyze application portfolio of diverse applications (1500+ application instances) but also much of a learning experience dealing with heads of different businesses and…

    Project Objective was to optimize portfolio of industrial applications (Including PLC/SCADA/DCS/Metering/BTG/BOP equipments) across different business units (generation, transmission, distribution) of energy vertical at one of the biggest power sector player Adani. It was not just technically challenging to create and analyze application portfolio of diverse applications (1500+ application instances) but also much of a learning experience dealing with heads of different businesses and presenting them the findings and chalking down roadmap for optimizing cost, utilization and value of such portfolio. As part of this project created standard SCADA guidelines to be followed by each business to rationalize vendors and cost.

  • Data De-duplication improvements

    Analyzing various backup applications and development of separate state machines corresponding to those backup applications for improving data deduplication by isolating data & metadata. It was a kernel module written in C.

  • Development & Maintenance of Management Interface for distributed storage backend

  • Data Scrubbing feature development

    Developing a feature for storage product, which petrols data on periodic interval for any kind of corruption and attempts for heeling automatically.

  • Functional Test Automation & Tools development

    Developed various automated tests for backend software functional testing & tools (backup simulator, metadata editor for hot fixes, dedup estimator) . Key Technologies: STAF/STAX, Python, pylint, boost.python etc.

  • Porting Storage Backend Software from 32bit to 64bit

    Porting of C++ software (around 60KLOC) from 32bit to 64bit architecture

  • Implement security between Guest to Host communication by modifying Ethernet bridge driver in XEN environment

    -

    An experiment conducted by Research lab; to provide additional security in XEN inter OS network communication. It required modification of Ethernet bridge driver of the linux system. MAC packets were encapsulated further in a custom protocol similar as described in RFC 4303, IP packets are to be filtered based upon certain conditions and features like access control, confidentiality and integrity are provided on the Ethernet bridge driver.

  • Spying Software for Windows OS

    A spying software (enterprise product) for windows machines which is responsible for spying different kind of activities running on a desktop i.e. file access, web-browsing, mail or ftp communications, printer usage etc. It involves C++ programming and security concepts and some hacking concepts (API Hooking) to cheat windows operating system for spying activities performed by OS. I personally enjoyed developing and inserting an LSP(layered service provider) to collect network traffic below…
