Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares

2025 campaign concludes

The 2025 Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares campaign has come to a close, and our UNC community raised an outstanding $276,309 — representing 15% of the campaign’s total $1.8 million. Thank you, Tar Heels, for once again demonstrating the generosity and dedication that define Carolina.

Looking for part-time child care, pet care or support for an aging parent? Helping Heels connects you with Carolina-affiliated caregivers ready to help. The list is updated every fall and spring.

Empower Financial Consultant

On site once a month for free one-on-one appointments 

Book an appointment with an Empower financial consultant to better understand state-sponsored supplemental retirement plans, discuss general retirement planning concepts and assist with enrollment or existing accounts. In-person consultations will be at UNC’s Administrative Office Building (AOB), 104 Airport Drive, Room 1501C, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. Virtual and phone appointments are also available. Explore more financial wellness resources for UNC employees.

University Compliance Office (UCO)

Protection of Minors program now housed within the UCO

The Protection of Minors oversees policies and protocols to ensure a safe environment for minors participating in University programs. All University community members are required to report incidents involving minors using the Protection of Minors incident reporting form. Additional reporting guidance is available on the UCO Protection of Minors webpage.

Extended UEOHC operating hours help UNC-Chapel Hill employees access timely care, meet compliance requirements and receive services outside standard work hours.

Relational Leadership Institute

March 16–17 and 26–27 | 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The Relational Leadership Institute (RLI) is a four-day, fee-based, immersive symposium that includes a combination of large- and small-group interaction designed to move you through the four domains of Relational Leadership: manage self, foster teamwork, coach and develop, and accelerate change. New for 2026, all State Health Plan members were automatically enrolled in the Lantern Surgical Benefit, which covers the cost of qualifying surgeries done within the Lantern network. Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS)

New ORBIT login

Effective Feb. 1, TSERS members will now use ID.me, a single sign-on (SSO) login, to access the ORBIT portal to view their TSERS account. Learn more about the new ORBIT login on the State Retirement System's website.
