Post Facilities Updates
Fort Hamilton will resume service operations tomorrow, Feb. 25, starting at 9 am, the Child Youth Services will be open for drop off at 8:30 am. Please do not attempt to park in areas that have not been plowed yet as it will slow snow removal operations.
Please be mindful of falling ice and snow hazards. As temperatures fluctuate and buildings retain heat, melting and refreezing are causing dangerous conditions above ground level.
- Watch for Falling Ice: Be extremely cautious of falling snow and ice sheets sliding from roofs and overhangs.
- Avoid Icicles: Do not walk or stand directly under gutters or building overhangs where icicles have formed. These can detach without warning and cause serious injury.
- Parking Safety: Do not park vehicles under rooflines or trees covered with ice. Falling ice can cause significant damage to windshields and car roofs.
---------------------
Please be advised that the Fort Hamilton Main Gate, located on 101st Street, will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7am – 5 pm from March 2 - 16, due to planned construction on the Verrazzano Bridge. The 7th Ave Gate will be open for all vehicles entering and exiting the installation during that time. Both the 101st pedestrian entrance and the 7th Ave pedestrian walkway will remain at normal operations.
