Private boards | Pinterest help

Only you (and anyone you invite) can see your private boards. On your home feed you may see suggestions for Pins based on your private boards. These are only visible to you and can be used for inspiration to find more ideas. You must have at least one private board for these suggested pins to appear.

If you want to make a new private board, create a board and toggle Keep this board private when you name the board.

Make an existing board private

Log in to your Pinterest account, then click your profile picture at the top-right corner of your screen to open your profile

Click the board you want to make private

Click at the right of the screen

Click Edit info and settings

Scroll down and toggle Make this board private

Click Done

Open the Pinterest app on your device

Log in to your Pinterest account, then tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner of your screen to open your profile

Tap Boards at the top of the screen

Tap the board you want to edit

Tap at the top-right corner of your screen, then select Edit board and header image

Toggle Make this board private

Tap Done

Open the Pinterest app on your device

Tap the board you want to edit

Tap at the top-right corner of your screen, then select Edit info and settings

Toggle Make this board private

Tap Done

When you save Pins to a private board, the person you saved from will not get a notification and the Pin’s count will not increase.

When you save Pins from a private board, we will not show the name of the person you saved it from on your new Pin.

If you want to share a private board, you can invite friends to collaborate or make the board public.

Make a private board public

To make a private board public, toggle off Make this board private in the board settings.

Note: Private boards and Pins can not be promoted through Pinterest ads.
