Is Meshy Safe? Privacy & Training Data FAQ

Overview

Meshy takes the privacy and security of your data seriously. This article answers the most common questions about how your assets are stored, whether your uploads are used for AI model training, and where our training data comes from.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is my data stored securely?

Yes. Your data is stored securely with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Meshy maintains ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 certifications, and strictly adheres to GDPR standards.

2. Are my uploaded assets and files safe?

Yes. All assets — including 3D models, images, and generated outputs — are stored securely and kept confidential. Only authorized systems have access to your files.

3. Can my data be used to train Meshy's AI models?

It depends on your plan:

  • Non-Enterprise customers: As outlined in our Terms of Use, Meshy may use anonymized user data for future model training as development requires.

  • Enterprise customers: Your data will not be used for AI training. This is explicitly prohibited under our Terms of Use.

4. Are concept art or reference images I upload used for training?

We do not currently use any user-uploaded images for training purposes. All images and models you upload are securely stored and kept confidential. However, as noted above, non-Enterprise customer data may be used in anonymized form for future training if required by model development needs. Enterprise customer data is always exempt.

5. How are Enterprise customers' data protected differently?

Enterprise customers receive enhanced data protections. Meshy is not authorized under its Terms of Use to use Enterprise customer data — including assets, uploads, or generated content — for any AI model training. This protection is contractually guaranteed.

6. Where does Meshy source its AI training data?

Meshy's training datasets consist of:

  • Publicly licensed free 3D models from major asset stores

  • Models purchased or licensed through various legitimate channels

Meshy does not use unlicensed or scraped content in its training pipeline.

7. Is Meshy GDPR compliant?

Yes. Meshy strictly adheres to GDPR standards as part of its commitment to data privacy and security. Combined with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 certifications, Meshy maintains a comprehensive framework for protecting your personal and business data.
