When the official Kilter app suddenly disappeared overnight, Kilter climbers got caught in the crossfire between Aurora and Kilter, climbers lost their logbooks, playlists, and draft climbs with no warning. That single-vendor risk is exactly why BoardSesh exists.
BoardSesh is a free, open source alternative to all board climbing apps. We maintain our own copy of the climb databases, support self-hosting, and are building toward data checkout so your climbing data is never held hostage again.

What we're building beyond the basics:

• Sessions (think Strava runs for climbing)
• Community-driven grade proposals, benchmarks, and classic tagging
• Play queues for EMOM sessions
• AI playlist generator — tell it your grade and training goal, get a queue (e.g. "v6 climber doing 4x4s" → a queue of v4s)

Why we need sponsors:
After the Kilter app went down, BoardSesh saw a huge spike in users, resulting in a hosting costs jump fast. We're currently spending ~$120/month (Neon DB, Vercel, Railway) and growing.
