This seems kind of insane given that a MEGA-corporation's theme park is an idea that's RIPE for satire, & is one of the main reasons people go to Florida.

Could totally picture the ads on their in-game TV for the park etc, which becomes a big setpiece later in the game. Rockstar was the king of satire, it just feels like such a missed opportunity.

This didn't detail the beaches at all. False title. I wanted to hear like "so one beach near this or that is the biggest & ur stereotypical beach, another in the ft. Lauderdale-ish area is more jam packed with party goers & young people, there's a beach in the keys that's built into a resort, there's a beach farther north that may provide Jason & Lucia a romantic hidden cove, etc etc etc.... all this article does is say beaches have population density. This article doesn't match the title.

The sheriff should lighten up. The days of concern over people doing bad things irl cuz of videogames is over, & the artists spent a decade building a lifelike city where they studied Miami culture, & honored it even to the point of hiring real Miami Street artists to do the in-game murals. The game is a Bonnie & Clyde power fantasy yes. It also includes a detailed & lovingly created world that allows the player to go jetski-ing, dancing, soak up the beach sun, kayak, explore the everglades, scuba-dive & more. GTA exists as a satire of modern america, but worlds & activities are always created with more care & respect than pretty much any other game. I'm pretty sure if UBISOFT wanted to do a promotional campaign in Egypt for AC Origins, I'm pretty sure Cairo wouldn't have said "we dont support assassinating people" lol. (Actually, funnily enough, Saudi officials not only supported, but fully FUNDED an expansion to AC : Mirage.) We can note cultural differences between Saudi Arabia & U.S. sheriff's I suppose, but the point is that it's reasonable for grown adults to appreciate which parts of something were crafted with care & respect for a location, & which parts serve silly gameplay that no one walks away from their console thinking "gee, I oughta go do that." Its a crime fantasy, yes, but note the word "fantasy." And beyond that its a vacation to virtual satirized Florida where ur encouraged to go fishing on ur Playstation, lol. Again, they should lighten up.
