Players will finally meet Yu'er's father in Phantom Blade Zero after reaching Pangzhen and will need to decide whether to tell him the truth about her fate or spare him the pain and hide the truth. The game throws some impactful narrative choices at players, which often dictate the climax of a quest or the overarching narrative. Does telling Yu'er's father the truth about her fate or lying to him in The Heart's Trail story quest impact the narrative in any way? Let's find out.
You must complete all of Yu'er's quests before entering Pangzhen; otherwise, they will fail, and you'll miss out on getting an accessory. Yu'er's quests include: Flesh Lily, Apprentice Healer, and A Healer's Mercy.
Should You Tell Yu'er's Father About Her Death in Phantom Blade Zero?
Players will find Yu'er's father in the northern part of the Pangzhen region, which is part of the "The Heart's Trail" main quest, so you'll head there anyway.
Once you interact with him, it'll lead to a cutscene, after which Yu'er's father will gain consciousness and tell Soul that he saw Yu'er in his dream. You'll need to pick one of the following dialog choices, which will decide whether Soul shares the truth about Yu'er's fate with her father or hides the truth to spare him misery.
Feel free to pick any of the two choices, as both won't make a difference apart from some extra lines of dialog.
What Happens if You Pick the "She's No Longer With Us" Dialog?
If you choose to tell him that Yu'er is dead, the father will share that he knew all along, as Yu'er appeared in his dream to say goodbye.
What Happens if You Pick the "She's Still Alive, But Hiding" Dialog?
Choosing to lie about Yu'er's death to her father won't make a difference, as he'll already be sure that she's dead after the dream he had.
After your conversation with Yu'er's father in Phantom Blade Zero, he will take some time to grieve his daughter. Wait around her father for some time, and then talk to him again to receive the Blessed Jade Pendant accessory.
It's a last gift from Yu'er, and one of the unique accessories that will give you one of the four effects based on RNG. Two of the effects are powerful attacks, while the other two are strange double-edged sword effects.
