The Dragon Ball Super anime ended with Goku unlocking Ultra Instinct: the most powerful form in the series so far. Ultra Instinct is too strong, in fact. Goku couldn't unlock the form's full power by the end of the Tournament of Power, and failed to tap into it while fighting Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. With the release of The Galactic Patrol, Dragon Ball Super 2 will finally give Goku the ultimate training arc as he masters Ultra Instinct once and for all.

Unfortunately, it won't take long until Dragon Ball knocks Ultra Instinct off its pedestal and introduces even more powerful transformations. Dragon Ball Super 2's strongest forms are going to make Ultra Instinct look like Super Saiyan 1 as villains and the Z-Fighters finally achieve Godhood. It's the end of the era for Ultra Instinct and Goku.

Dragon Ball Super's Main Characters Will All Catch Up To Goku

Orange Piccolo, Gohan Beast, Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, Ultra Instinct Goku, and Ultra Ego Vegeta

Long gone are the days of Dragon Ball Z when the main cast just barely managed to keep up with Goku (or Gohan, depending on the arc). Not only are all of the main Z-Fighters (Vegeta, Broly, Gohan, and Piccolo) at the bare minimum equal to Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku's Power Level thanks to their new forms, several of Dragon Ball Super's main characters have actually surpassed Goku outright. By the end of Dragon Ball Super 2, Goku won't even be in the top 5 strongest Dragon Ball characters anymore.

In the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Vegeta will unlock Ultra Ego, a powerful form that makes him stronger the longer he fights and the more damage he takes. Despite being totally unrefined, Ultra Ego Vegeta is already as strong as Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku. Piccolo, on the other hand, wished for ultimate power from Shenron, with his Orange form giving him a large enough boost to put him on par with the likes of Goku (something both Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou confirmed).

Broly already surpassed Goku in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, but he's going to become more powerful than ever after tapping into the full power of True Legendary Super Saiyan. Then there's Gohan: by unlocking Beast in the Super Hero Saga, Gohan will reclaim his crown as the strongest Z-Fighter, officially surpassing both Goku and Vegeta for good.

Gohan Beast VS Perfected Ultra Instinct Gou is Going To End Badly For Goku

The son has once again surpassed the father, and this time it looks like it's going to be for good. Unlocking Beast at the end of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero skyrocketed Gohan's Power Level to heights that rival the most powerful Gods. The Dragon Ball Super manga's Super Hero Saga continues the story for a few more chapters where Gohan visits Beerus' Planet in order to catch up with Goku. There, he ends up sparring with both Goku and Broly, easily defeating both fighters.

Not only is Gohan Beast stronger than Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, he's actually faster. Gohan Beast is so fast, in fact, that he's able to completely overpower Ultra Instinct's reflexes, dodging Goku's attacks. Keep in mind that Goku has fully mastered Perfected Ultra Instinct by this point and can trigger the form whenever he wants. This is Goku in peak condition and Gohan Beast still manages to knock him out of Ultra Instinct with a single hit.

The next generation surpassing the last is a major theme in Dragon Ball, and it's looking like Goku's formally passed the torch onto Gohan. Not only is he pleased that Gohan's grown strong enough to protect the Earth in his absence, Whis believes he's good enough to replace Beerus as God of Destruction (not that he'd ever become a Destroyer). Goku's going to need a serious power-up if he's going to catch up to Gohan Beast in the Black Frieza Saga.

Black Frieza is the Most Powerful Transformation in Dragon Ball Super 2

Black Frieza and an injured Goku in Dragon Ball Super

When it comes down to it, Goku and the rest of the Z-Fighters are hopelessly outclassed by Frieza. The Granolah the Survivor Saga debuted Frieza's Black form: a transformation so powerful, he was able to one-shot Awakened Gas, True Ultra Instinct Goku, and Ultra Ego Vegeta in a matter of seconds – and all without using his full power. Goku and Vegeta would be dead if Frieza didn't spare them on a whim (one that'll surely come back to haunt him).

There is no telling just how strong Black Frieza is, but he could very well rival Beerus and the rest of the Gods – possibly even some Angels. Frieza trained for ten years in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber to unlock his Black form, and it shows. He's stronger, faster, and more menacing than ever. Dragon Ball Super has currently built up Black Frieza as Dragon Ball Super 2's ultimate villain, and it'll take everything the Z-Fighters have in them to put him down for good.
