Chapter 17, Page 28b | Letting the Emotions Out

The Halloween Countdown Returns!

October is here, which means so is my Halloween Countdown!

I’ll be posting a Halloween cartoon every single day, counting down all the way to October 31.

You’ll be able to follow along on:

Thirty-one days. Thirty-one cartoons. Because apparently at some point I looked at October and thought, “You know what this month needs? A deadline every day.”

Letting the Emotions Out

Dr. Muskiday has done it. The macronanos have been neutralized, Evil Inc is back in business, and all of that pent-up emotional energy is being safely released into the atmosphere.

Safely.

Perfectly safely.

Please disregard any previous incidents involving volcano-powered orphanages.

But while Catnip and Count Spurlock may have some reasonable questions about Evil Inc’s environmental policies, Muskiday gets something far more unexpected: a sincere compliment.

HoloClone Miss Match tells him she’s proud of him.

Sometimes letting the emotions out means dumping them into the upper atmosphere.

Sometimes it means keeping just one.

Transcript

Panel 1

Several emotions are seen floating out the window of the Evil Inc Fairmount branch

Dr. Muskiday: That’s the last of it. All of the emotions will safely dissipate into the upper atmosphere.

Catnip: We can just dump emotional waste into the atmosphere?!

Muskiday: I prefer “unprocessed feelings.” And yes, it's perfectly harmless.

Count Spurlock: As harmless as the Volcano-Powered Orphanage?
Muskiday: In my defense, it didn’t start as an orphanage.

Panel 2

HoloClone Miss Match: You did it, Doctor Muskiday! I’m really proud of you!

Panel 3

Dr. Muskiday: You don’t have to say that.

HoloClone Miss Match: I know.

Panel 4

The book

This book collects three complete Evil Inc storylines along with their uncensored “After Dark” counterparts. Read the workplace comedy, superhero action, romantic disasters, and villainous schemes from the main comic — then see what happens after the punchline.

Multiple Choice — With her relationship with Captain Heroic on the rocks, Miss Match requests an out-of-town assignment and winds up teaching a series of supervillain seminars in Akron, Ohio. But when sparks fly between her and the stone-cold arch-fiend Death Chill, her working vacation gets complicated fast.

Meanwhile, Desi is being summoned back to the Dark Dominion — permanently. Her only hope of remaining on Earth is to find a lifemate. Unfortunately, choosing between her attraction to the buff demon Surgat and her decidedly complicated relationship with Iron Dragon may be harder than any infernal trial.

Party Hard — After a run-in with Mister Howell, Wingman falls under the Werewolf’s Curse — and gets a new assignment: Spread it to his fellow heroes. There’s just one problem. Most of them seem to have disappeared behind locked doors.

Meanwhile, provisional heroes Mystic Apprentice and Dragonelle are sent after the Giggler. But when the clown princess of crime unleashes a body-changing formula, their first big mission becomes considerably more complicated.

Choose or Lose — When Miss Match is taken hostage, Captain Heroic charges to the rescue — only to come face-to-face with one of Evil Inc’s most dangerous managers, now wielding the powers of every hero and villain she’s absorbed.

One of those villains is Mister Howell, who finds himself transported somewhere his deepest desires can run wild.

Artist Editions

An Artist Edition is a numbered, signed bookplate with an original illustration that ships with your book. The drawing at the top of this post is an example. The Artist Edition illustrations take a little more time to do, and I don’t like to rush those because it’s a very rare opportunity to get original art from me since I started working digitally. This year, to help speed up the process, I’m breaking up the Artist Editions into three categories…

  • $70 — Bust: You’ll get a single figure drawn from the waist up. You pick the character and pose. NSFW or SFW.
  • $100 — Full body: You’ll get a full-body drawing of a single figure. You pick the character and pose. NSFW or SFW.
  • $150 — Two bodies: You’ll get a full-body drawing of two figures. You pick the characters and poses. NSFW or SFW.

International shipping

As with the previous campaign, this Kickstarter will ship only to the United States and Canada.

International shipping has become very complicated (and expensive) in recent years. Changing tariffs, “de minimis” charges, and VAT/GST rules in the EU, UK, Australia, and elsewhere require creators to collect taxes, file extra paperwork, and in some cases register for foreign tax IDs. On top of that, backers outside North America are often hit with surprise customs fees when their rewards arrive.

Here’s an excellent explanation of what we’re dealing with.

To avoid those frustrations — and to keep fulfillment smooth and affordable — this campaign is limited to the U.S. and Canada. I truly appreciate my international supporters, and I’ll continue looking for ways to make future projects more accessible worldwide.
