Client's Core Needs​​

“The client required the product customization, sample confirmation, and bulk production of a brand-new product to be completed within two months.”

Project Challenges

1.The client originally engaged in the furniture industry and had limited experience of luggage. The initial luggage manufacturer failed to carry out the project due to insufficient capabilities. As a result, the client turned to us for help.

2.The product customization scope encompasses many details, such as product materials, colors, metal logos, rubber logos on the lining fabric, lining fabric printing, logos on the telescopic handles, and logos on the wheels etc..

3.Some of the accessories required mold opening and sample confirmation, and the time was extremely pressing.

Our Solution

  • We had intensive communication with the client within a week. Through video conferences, we explained in detail all the technical specifications of the product to the client, and then formulated a feasible product customization plan.
  • By accelerating the progress of sample making and mold production, we effectively reduced the development time by approximately 15 days, leaving more time for mass production.
  • We enabled the overseas client to keep informed of the production progress through internal inspection reports and videos.

  • 1988–1996

During Singapore’s economic boom, Daniel Liu’s parents, who came from a humble fishing village background, moved to Singapore to work in a luggage  factory. Determined to break the cycle of poverty for future generations, they endured years of hard work and frugal living, gradually saving a modest sum.

  • 1997

With their savings and a vision for quality products, Daniel Liu’s parents returned to China and established a small family-run luggage workshop, which they named EMAY Luggage. Around that time, China’s export industry was rapidly growing. EMAY soon connected with several Japanese clients, and the business quickly gained traction.

  • 1998–2007

EMAY experienced steady growth. The team expanded from just over 10 workshop workers to a workforce of more than 100, marking the company’s transformation from a small operation into a growing manufacturer.

  • 2008

The global financial crisis hit EMAY’s overseas clients hard. Large quantities of high-value ordered luggage were left in the warehouse, and payments stalled, pushing the company to the brink of bankruptcy. It was during this critical period that Daniel Liu officially took over the management of the factory from his parents.

  • 2009–2018

After navigating through the company’s most difficult chapter, Daniel Liu began diversifying EMAY’s product offerings. The company expanded into hardshell suitcases, aluminum-frame luggage, backpacks, and more, growing to a team of over 200 employees. More importantly, EMAY evolved from a quality OEM manufacturer into a comprehensive luggage solutions provider, offering services that span the entire production chain—from product ideation and design to large-scale manufacturing, including in-house production of raw materials and components.

  • 2019–2025

Today, EMAY continues its steady growth. The company now operates three specialized factories, each focusing on a distinct product category: fabric suitcases and backpacks, zipper hardshell luggage, and aluminum-frame suitcases. EMAY is now recognized as a leading name in customized luggage manufacturing and is committed to becoming a world-class manufacturer in this industry.As a vertically integrated factory specializing in luggage & suitcase customization, we combine 28 years of expertise with full-stack production capabilities—from injection-molded shells to precision-engineered telescopic handles, wheels, and zippers.
