Integrating Google Pay™ with Telr enhances the payment experience for your customers by providing a seamless, secure, and convenient way to pay using the credit or debit cards saved in their Google Account in supported devices. This enables faster checkout while maintaining strong security and flexibility for your customers.
Supported Authentication Method
Google Pay supports two card authentication methods:
- PAN_ONLY
- CRYPTOGRAM_3DS
Currently, Telr supports CRYPTOGRAM_3DS only.
Why only CRYPTOGRAM_3DS?
This method uses device-based tokenization. Because the payload already contains a secure cryptogram, no additional 3DS step-up (OTP/Biometric) is required from the merchant's side during the authorization flow. If Telr enables PAN_ONLY in the future, merchants will be notified as it requires a different 3DS handling flow.
Branding Guidelines
Merchants must use the official Google Pay™ branding assets in compliance with:
This includes the Google Pay button (for API integrations) and/or the Google Pay logo (for marketing or informational use).
- Do not modify the Google Pay assets in terms of color, proportions, or appearance.
- Ensure proper usage depending on your integration type.
- The trademark symbol (™) must be used in the first or most prominent mention on any page.
Integration Options
There are two ways to enable Google Pay with Telr:
-
Google Pay on Hosted Payment Page
This option allows merchants to enable Google Pay directly on the Telr Hosted Payment Page with minimal setup.
-
Google Pay using Remote JSON API
This integration complements existing card payment flows and is intended for merchants who:
- Use our Seamless integration, or
- Are PCI-DSS certified and use the Remote API for all authorization flows.
