I saw this little kettle being designed and manufactured on NHK's Artist x Designer TV show and was delighted to find it for sale here on Amazon. The quality is excellent, which is good, since it's pretty pricey. It is smaller than I expected, holding 1 quart of water, but it takes up less space on my stove and doesn't sit there with lots stale water in it. The wooden handle and knob make it easy to handle and the flat bottom means it heats water very quickly. A clean, refreshing design.

Rusty interior
Update after 3 months: I am no longer using this kettle as the rust became apparent. Manufacture and seller should be more responsible when selling a product at a premium price. Unless this is rectified, no one should use this kettle as it directly POISON the drinking water.TYNARusty interior

Original review: My most concern is toxic released to water during boiling process. This kettle has offered me the solution. Given the time and effort it took me to look for a non-toxic kettle and the current premium prices of kettles manufactured in China, this Made-in-Japan kettle worths every penny. Not to mention, the design is very simple and elegant.
When using this kettle on an induction stove (with timer function), boiling water is just as convenient as using an electric kettle.
I am just glad that I came across this kettle.
