Antoine Urgliavich was one of the most important manufacturer of eyeglasses and optical lenses during 19th century. He was also manufacturing binoculars and telescopes because of his interest to observe the sky and space.

In the year 1867 Antoine Urgliavich, a visionary and engineer of his time, had the unique opportunity to choose the best location to the Galata tower to build his house and atelier. He located the building in the most convenient place due to his knowledge from his observations. The apartment complex dominates the entire Galata Tower and Galata Square.

Throughout the year, Galata Square hosts various events, street artists, musicians and art activities. When you raise your head on the square, you see a 20 meters long balcony with a 270° panoramic view that dominates all of these events. This balcony belongs to the apartment designed by Antoine Urgliavich for living on the 2nd floor in order to make his sky observations. Now you have a chance to accommodate in his heritage.

The building was renovated in 2012 and today it was redecorated by its owner who is an art collector in Switzerland. Murano chandeliers and furnitures which are used in the decorations are antique. The rest of the furnitures are handmade and specially designed for this apartment.

When you go to the 2nd floor, you reach this private living area where Antoine Urgliavich also lived. In the living room at the entrance of the apartment, there is a comfortable and big couch that can also be used as a bed and a brown leather armchair. The living room is a place where you can spend quality time with its mini library of carefully selected interesting books for our visitors and a stylish bluetooth speaker.

The door to the right of the hall opens into the kitchen and dining room located in the center of the house. With its air conditioner, large table, comfortable chairs, built-in white goods, coffee machine and exclusive tableware products, all the details have been considered in order to get the taste you desire in your meals.

The panoramic balcony, which has a fascinating day and night view, is accessible from every room of the apartment. You can enjoy your romantic night or sunrise at the table and chairs on the balcony to the accompaniment of the priceless view of the Galata Tower.

At the other end of the kitchen, there is a spacious and air-conditioned bedroom. You can relieve your tiredness by watching the Galata Tower or the original frescos on the 4 meter high ceiling while lying in a 200x220 cm king size bed that offers you high comfort.
