Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
As featured in Period Living & Ideal Home - a special place presented with real attention to detail, this period cottage is furnished with antiques, art, great beds, soft Designers Guild towels & White Company bedlinen. Hidden from the road, the breathtaking gardens are formally landscaped with walkways and a wisteria archway. Set in the heart of quiet and picturesque Southrop, the village pub offers good food and is a five min walk, as are the restaurant and spa at the acclaimed Thyme hotel.

The space
Downstairs offers an open plan living room / kitchen / diner with an inglenook fireplace and bathroom. The new kitchen is well equipped & there is underfloor heating. Upstairs are two adjoining bedrooms.

Other things to note
* It is best to have a car as we are located in a village.
* The two bedrooms interconnect - you walk through the twin to the king bedroom (please see the floorplan).
* Our stairs are steep and open into the twin bedroom - this is not suitable for toddlers nor anyone who is unsteady on their feet (please see photos).
* There is an uncovered pond - care is needed with small children and dogs.
* Well behaved dogs are very welcome, but please not on the beds.
* Ceiling beams are low downstairs

Neighborhood highlights

The village of Southrop is in the Domesday book, and lies in a conservation area on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire borders, midway between Cirencester and Burford. It has an excellent pub called The Swan, the acclaimed restaurant and spa at the Thyme hotel, and an attractive 12th Century Norman church.

Learoyds cottage is three miles from the local market towns of Lechlade and Fairford. Here there are bakeries, shops, post office, supermarket, chemist, surgery and pubs. Fairford comes alive on Wednesday mornings with a market in the square. Pretty Burford is a 5 mile drive. The Cotswolds Wildlife Park, Buscot Park and William Morris' Kelmscott Manor are nearby.
