Comfy bed for better sleep

Named “Best in New Orleans Airbnb” by Condé Nast Traveler, Business Insider, and Time Out magazines, this historic home has stood for more than a century amongst quiet tree-lined streets in the heart of Uptown with its gracious old homes and locally-owned shops and restaurants. Just two blocks from St. Charles Ave. and Audubon Park, with Tulane and Loyola Universities, and Magazine St. all walkably close by, we offer the perfect getaway - complete with saltwater pool and chimney brick patio!

The space
The Carriage House is over 130 years old, but newly renovated with period details and antique furniture. The open floor plan downstairs has a fully-furnished eat-in kitchen, living room (with full size sleeper sofa), half bath and cable TV (with HBO, Netflix, etc.). Upstairs is a bedroom with queen bed, full tiled and marble bath, large walk in closet, and desk for working. Lots of natural light.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the carriage house. The pool, patio and back yard are shared with hosts and our five year-old black lab, Olive.

Parking is free, on-street. Guests can usually park right in front of our house. If that spot is taken, there are several other spots right past the driveway. Out of consideration for our neighbors, we ask that guests park on our side of the street.

Other things to note
Welcoming amenities - a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and/or other snacks greet you upon arrival. The refrigerator is stocked with soft drinks, bottled water, local beers as well as milk and orange juice. Provided coffee, tea and baked goods also make for a breakfast to be enjoyed in the dining area or on the patio.

Laundry facilities are lacking in the carriage house, but we do have a washer and dryer in the main house. We are happy to provide “wash, dry, fluff and fold” services to guests staying more than a few days and can always pitch in in the event of a laundry emergency.

Live oaks and magnolia trees line our stately streets, locally-owned shops and restaurants entice, and the therapeutic benefits of a stroll around the Park cannot be overstated! A Whole Foods and local dining favorites Clancy’s and Saba are right down the street, while the French Quarter is but a streetcar's ride away.

Originally from Kansas City, then Alabama, I moved to New Orleans right out of law school. Some forty-odd years later, I can't imagine living anywhere else! My husband, daughter, and I love to travel and meet new people and are looking forward to sharing our city with visitors!
