About James Simon
James Simon is a theater producer based in New York City, known for his work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in the UK. Born in Westchester, NY in 1966, Simon developed an early interest in the performing arts which led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree from Emerson College in Boston, where he graduated in 1988.
Simon began his career in the arts as an actor, appearing in independent films and Off-Broadway productions, and even made a cameo on “Saturday Night Live.” His transition to theater production marked a significant shift in his career trajectory, leading him to become a prominent figure in the theater industry.
His production credits include the Tony-nominated “Bells Are Ringing” and the critically acclaimed “The Woman In Black.” Simon has also been involved in the production of “Operation Mincemeat,” a musical that received favorable reviews upon its Broadway debut in 2025, and he co-produced the revival of “Death Of A Salesman” from 2022 to 2023. In addition to theater, Simon has ventured into film production, notably as an executive producer for “A Tale of Two Pizzas” (2003) and as a co-producer for the upcoming “When Reagan Killed Roosevelt.”
Outside of his direct production roles, Simon actively contributes to the development of the next generation of theater professionals through his involvement with Untitled Theater Company 61 and as a member of Theater Resources Unlimited.
