About Chris Endfinger
Dr. Chris Endfinger is an emergency medicine physician with nearly 30 years of experience. He currently works at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Over the course of his career, he has served in emergency departments across multiple hospitals in the state.
Born in Gulf Breeze, Florida, Endfinger graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1989 with a degree in Biochemistry and minors in Math and French. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine in 1993. He completed his Family Medicine residency at UAB in 1996, where he was named Intern of the Year and later served as Chief Resident.
From 2004 to 2007, he served as the ER Director at Gadsden Regional Hospital. In this role, he helped oversee operations and led efforts to improve patient care and team communication.
In addition to his hospital work, Endfinger has participated in medical mission trips to Honduras, providing care in clinics with limited resources. He is a strong advocate for mentorship in medicine and often supports younger physicians and residents through training and emotional guidance.
He emphasizes the importance of presence, calm leadership, and compassion in high-pressure environments. He continues to work full time in emergency care and remains active in his church and local community.
Dr. Endfinger is married with two children and one grandchild. He supports causes such as Compassion International and Fight For Life in Birmingham. His interests include reading, guitar, and fitness.
