Established in 1766, Clifton Observatory is a unique and historical event venue offering stunning views overlooking the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge and the City of Bristol.

The observatory has become an important piece of local heritage and an iconic part of the Bristol landscape. Offering breath-taking panoramic views, access to the Giant’s Cave and is home to one of the only Camera Obscuras in England.

Please note: We operate on a walk-in only basis and do not take bookings. The rooftop terrace may be closed in winter and for private events.

We had the most fantastic wedding ceremony at Clifton Observatory. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and well organised. The staff went above and beyond to help us create a special day, even moving the date at the last minute. Our guests really enjoyed exploring the tower and caves and we particularly loved having drinks on the rooftop terrace with the stunning view!

Thank you so much for everything – last night was just amazing! Everyone absolutely loved it. The venue, the views, the atmosphere and of course the food. People were still raving about it this morning! Thank you so much for making sure everything went to plan – however I’m still in shock that you managed to surprise me with the flowers!!!
