Plan your day and keep a private journal in one place, with calendar events, reminders, handwriting, widgets, Shortcuts, and iCloud
sync.
Parchment is a private daily journal that brings your writing, plans, calendar, and reminders together in one quiet place. It uses Apple's Reminders and the system calendar to bring your task and events together.
Open today and start writing immediately. Your calendar events and due or overdue reminders can appear above your journal entry, giving you the context of the day without switching apps. Capture notes, reflect on what happened, plan what comes next, or use Parchment as a simple daybook for work and life.
On iPad, Parchment also supports handwriting and drawing with Apple Pencil, so typed notes and handwritten thoughts can live together on the same day.
Parchment is built for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with iCloud sync available through your private iCloud account. There is no Parchment account to create, no advertising, and no third-party analytics SDKs.
Features include:
- Daily journal entries organized by date
- Calendar events shown alongside your writing
- Due and overdue reminders in your daily view
- Reminder completion from inside the app
- Apple Pencil handwriting and drawing on iPad
- iCloud sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac
- Widgets for a quick look at your agenda
- Shortcuts, Siri, and App Intents support
- Spotlight indexing for finding past entries
- Export tools for keeping a copy of your writing
- Custom appearance, fonts, and themes
Parchment is for people who want a journal that understands the shape of their day. It gives you one place to write what happened, see what is coming up, and keep a private record over time.
It’s a Command Center integrating daily To-Do, time-sensitive Reminders, Calendar, and odd miscellaneous notes and ideas you track for the day. The killer feature is that it integrates into, AND IS, your native Reminder and Calendar. All in one place.👉🏻 There's ONE THING it’s missing to finally conquer this all-in-one-app concept: ❥ Ongoing non-deadline stuff you want to get to over the course of the upcoming week or month. Some kinda pop-up pad you can track ongoing “get to it later” important-but-non-urgent things that you need to remember to squeeze in but defy categorization into today’s checklist.
Simple and Pleasant

I learned about this app from a newsletter from The Verge. I’m glad I gave it a try. It’s very simple and I love how it ties directly into Calendar and Reminders. It makes me actually want to write things down that I normally would not. I’m using it almost like a journal, which I’ve never had a desire to do. I expect to be using this for a long time.I would love to see it suggest Reminders and Calendar events based on what you write. This is a very pleasant app to use. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
This is the app Apple should have developed

It’s very simple, this app is simply how Apple Reminders and Calendar should have been integrated from the beginning. Except you also have the added benefit of the day’s note to keep track of everything. Extremely well thought out, no subscription. Just buy it, I use it every day now.
Work in progress

I love the concept and layout, but there are a few things presently that affect how I rate it. The 1st star lost is to the bugs (like Mac version doesn’t acknowledge Calendar and Reminder permissions being granted until you quit and open the app again. The 2nd star lost is to the limitations of the app and what I consider core functionality. There should be an ongoing (long term or without due dates) tasks section. The other is the ability to attach related files (pdf’s or any other type) or provide clickable links for convenient access. The last one is the app doesn’t have an ability to create a new calendar or a reminders list. You have to do that in the respective apps prior to utilizing it in Parchment. Overall, I see a lot of potential and believe this app will see improvement and hopefully the addition of mentioned features in the near future.
