Thomas & Friends: Let’s Roll

A colourful space where younger children can play and learn.

Thomas and his pals have work to do in this playful adventure for younger children that’s designed to support neurodivergence. Little ones will guide six familiar engines along the tracks, collecting recyclable items and jewels along the way, and clean up the environment on the interactive island of Sodor.

What we love: Kids control the pace and direction of play and are afforded autonomous choices. Items collected on the way to Whiff’s Recycling Plant must be placed in the correct bins to fashion a recycled bike or teddy bear, for instance. We also love Creator Mode, where kids lay out the track, choose the route around lakes and waterfalls, and get to see the engine chugging along.

Kids will lay tracks, clear paths and keep their engines rolling.

Quick tip: Tap everything! Play is tactile and there are some lovely interactive elements hiding in plain sight. Tap the shining jewels in the Old Mine to create custom musical tunes, and wildlife will approach to say hello if prompted.

Meet the creator: In keeping with the Thomas universe, the app is designed by the team at StoryToys with neurodiverse children in mind. The character Bruno the Brake Car has autism, and the team hope that neurodiverse kids will see some of themselves represented.
