Become an Agenda ace
Accomplish more with these power moves.
Agenda promotes a date- and task-focused approach to taking notes. Once you catch on to this unique workflow, you can really get going and accomplish more with it. Here are some power moves to help you become an Agenda ace!
Mark it with Markdown
Agenda isn’t your typical Markdown editor, but it supports a bevy of handy commands to format text while typing: no clicking needed. For example, putting a word or sentence between asterisks (*) will *italicise* it. Using two asterisks will make it **bold**. Use three if you want to make it ***both***.
Another handy command is the use of brackets (< >) to create a checkbox. If you want to make one and mark it as done, put an ‘x’ between the brackets. Need to show something as being struck through? Put two tildes (~~) before and after the word or sentence.

Templates for an easier life
Thanks to its date-based approach, Agenda lends itself very well to recurring types of notes, such as for meetings, pitches and so on. But it’s tedious to set up similar notes every single time. Here’s how to set up templates for repeated use.
Create a new category by clicking the plus (+) button in the lower left and choosing New Category. A good name for this one would be Templates, but hey, follow your heart. Next, set up a new project by clicking that same plus button and selecting New Project.
You could use a single project for now. Go into the project and create a new note. For a meeting, fields that are handy would be Date, Attending, Topics, Notes and Action Items.
Next time you need to make a note you’ve already templated, go into the project, copy the template by right-clicking on the note and selecting Copy (or press Command-C). Select the destination project, then paste the template by going to Edit in the menu bar and hitting Paste (or press Command-V).
