Like any considerate workout partner, Liftin’ is there when you need a spot and stands clear when it’s time to work. There’s intuitive set tracking, automatic weight progression, and gorgeous graphs that help you visualize growth. With a large library of exercises, integration of popular strength training programs (5x5, nSuns, etc.), and personalized AI-generated routines, it’s a workout app that does much of the heavy lifting for you—figuratively at least.
What we love: Liftin’s secret sauce is the automatic progressive overload option that will increase or decrease weights based on your progress in completing target reps, and your own custom rules for levelling up. This removes the guesswork, ensuring the focus stays on the workout rather than tedious data input. In fact, Liftin’ specializes in tools to lessen phone or watch fiddling.

Quick tip: Configure your max weight for exercises such as chest presses or deadlifts as a reference point, so you can schedule workouts to a percentage of your max.
Meet the creator: Developer Valter Hemmi is from Sweden and is also the senior iOS developer for IKEA. He began working on Liftin’ eight years ago after finding existing solutions weren’t working. Now, when developing new features, he takes his lead from the community. “Over the years, Liftin' has evolved a lot,” he tells us. “Many of the added features come from ideas sent to me from users. The direct feedback makes it even more fun and engaging to work on this project.”
