APPS WE LOVE

Readle

Learn new languages for real-world settings.

If you’ve been learning a new language you may have realised that some of the text and examples you’ve encountered on your course aren’t helpful enough to use in real-world situations. Readle is an excellent choice if you want to get to grips with another lingo through a curriculum that’s based on actual stories and events.

What we love: Instead of just reading the article and the translation in your target language, Readle helps make your learning experience more effective. The Grammar tab is where you can learn why words are used or conjugated in a certain way, while the Keywords section is where you can get granular with structured learning. If you want to evaluate your progress along the way, explore the Quiz tab.

Learn new words in a language of your choice with real-world news articles or fiction.

Quick tip: If you don’t yet feel confident taking on a full article, break it into segments with sentence-by-sentence translations using the 文A button.

Meet the creator: The app’s co-founder Christian Schraeder was learning Chinese when he realised his course lacked some real-life components. This experience spurred him on to create Readle.
