Undergraduate Student Member | US/Canada $25
Undergraduate Student Members shall be individuals enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution, who have never been employed in infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology. Undergraduate Student Members may not vote, hold elected office, or serve on committees.
Note: Proof of program enrollment is required for Undergraduate Student Membership.
Graduate Student Member | US/Canada $55
Graduate Student Members shall be individuals enrolled in a master’s or doctorate program at an accredited institution, who have never been employed in infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology. Graduate Student Members may not vote, hold elected office, or serve on committees.
Note: Proof of program enrollment is required for Graduate Student Membership.
New to Profession Member | US/Canada $220
New to Profession Members shall be individuals occupationally or professionally involved in the practice of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology for up to three years. Such members may vote in elections or when a membership vote is required by Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws or requested by the Board of Directors, serve on committees, and hold elected office. Individuals can be in this category for three years, not to exceed their first three years in infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology.
Professional Member | US/Canada $220
Professional Members shall be individuals occupationally or professionally involved in the practice of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology. Such members may vote in elections or when a membership vote is required by Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws or requested by the Board of Directors, serve on committees, and hold elected office.
Associate Member | US/Canada $220
Associate Members shall be individuals occupationally or professionally involved in the practice of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology who are employed by Industry (ex. manufacturer, vendor, products/services to IPs). Such members may vote in elections or when a membership vote is required by Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws or requested by the Board of
Directors. They may serve in appointed capacities however they cannot hold elected office.
Supporting Member | US/Canada $295
Supporting Members shall be individuals who are not actively involved in the practice of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology. Supporting Members may not vote, hold elected office or serve on committees.
Retired Member | US/Canada $80
Retired Members shall be individuals who are no longer actively involved in the practice of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology and who have had five (5) consecutive years of Professional or Associate APIC membership prior to retirement. Retired Members may vote in elections or when a membership vote is required by Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws or requested by the Board of Directors and serve on committees, however, they may not hold elected office.
For individuals outside the US/Canada, APIC offers a four-tier dues structure based on the World Bank’s income groups.

Organizational Membership
Systems/Companies/Facilities committed to advancing infection prevention and control are eligible for Organizational Membership. Through this program, you can enroll multiple IPs, non-IP healthcare professionals who have IPC responsibilities, and/or other professionals via a single invoice. This program offers savings for enrolling groups of people while providing each member with the full slate of APIC’s member benefits.
- “Organizational Member” describes the facility, system or company.
- Individuals covered by an Organizational Membership must still meet the current definition of the appropriate category (Professional, New to Profession, Associate, etc.).
Advanced Training Discount (save $50)
New to Profession and Professional Members based in the US/Canada and enrolled in a formal degree or certificate program with an accredited college/university can save $50 on annual membership dues.
Discount is available to both new and renewing members. Discount is only available online and must be entered at the time of payment. The code cannot be applied retroactively or outside of the annual join/renew process. Discount can only be used once per program and degree/certification information must be provided at the time of payment.
